New Years!
I some how managed to ignore Photoshop all of 2009. Well, not all. I had exactly one .psd file as I went back through all my photos to add watermarks for internet posting. This WILL be different in 2010. Happy New Years! May the double digits be doubt the fun. (My only photoshop project.)

I need a frog.
Or should stop seeing movies with love stories, even if they are cartoons. I just enjoy that classic love story WAY too much. ribbit. ribbit. (ew. out of focus, but that’s what happens on spring break. Port douglas, Australia 9/2008)

My go-to cake.
Deep chocolate. Ganache. Pecans. Praline. What more could you want? I found this cake in the July 2009 Bon Appétit and haven’t forgotten it. I instantly knew that I had to make it… So, I made it for my Mom’s birthday. And then I made it again for Forth of July (which is was it was intended for) and then again, and again. It batted clean up on the dessert line-up at Thanksgiving,...

Oh, the Midwest!
While baby-sitting today, I went to get a glass of water and chose a cup from the Horseradish Festive in Collinsville, IL. They went. Enjoyed it, and are going to next year’s. I wish I had remembered to take a picture of the cup. There’s always tomorrow.

I don’t really know what I’m doing, or who’s reading this. My tagline says “I like to write,” but that I haven’t done. I’m working on it. Eventually. I’m slow at getting acclimated in every aspect of my life, and apparently Tumblr is just another thing that takes time. So, for now, I will show you how I spent the Fall of 2008. I realize that was...

And what are you studying?
“Journalism and math,” I answer. I think I need a new way of approaching this question. People applaud, but then say, “Math?!” and they aren’t questioning my ability, but why I’d ever want to work with numbers. I like numbers. They have one answer: right or wrong. Alive or dead. Green or red. Empty or full. Yes or no. There isn’t a maybe, a sorta, an...

Ohhh college students...
I still don’t understand why it took a 3-week-long game of email tag to get into the 8am Calc2 class I needed for next semester. Who takes Calc2 at 8am that doesn’t have to?! I on the other hand, have an internship that locks me out of the other, more convenient, time slots. Oh well. I won. Got my 8am. Yes!
